A Nebraska man was arrested on multiple requested charges, including battery of a law enforcement officer and drug possession after an alleged incident in south central Saline County on Friday.
Sheriff Soldan said this morning that officers responded to the report of a vehicle parked in the roadway in the 5900 block of East Mentor Road. When officers arrived they identified a 2008 Chevy Silverado pickup parked in the roadway. The driver was identified as Mathew McBride of McCook, Nebraska.
"When deputies started talking to Matthew it became obvious that he was under the influence of something," Soldan said. "He was lethargic, at first."

Deputies noticed drugs in the vehicle and had begun to place him under arrest when McBride grabbed the bag of drugs and threw it out the window of the vehicle.
Soldan said a "scuffle" ensued leading to one deputy getting punched in the head.
Deputies recovered the drugs and identified them as methamphetamine.

Battery on LEO; Phys contact county/city LEO
Use/poss drug paraphernalian/human body
Improper parking
Interf w/LEO; obstr/resist/oppose felony warrant
Poss of opiate, narcotic, or certain stimulant
