April 25, 1932 ~ October 16, 2022 (age 90)

SALINA — Raymond Dale Macey, 90, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Salina, KS.

Raymond was born April 25, 1932 in Topeka, KS to Raymond T. Macey and Doris Hatherly Macey.

He graduated from Topeka High School and entered the U.S. Navy serving with the P2V squadron. During his time in the Navy, he participated in the atomic test of the Kwajalein and Enewetak atolls.

After his honorable discharge, he joined the Kansas Highway Patrol achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He then joined the Kansas Bureau of Investigation where he served as a Special Agent and conducted polygraph testing for the State of Kansas.

He married the love of his life, Barbara Anne Milne, on Valentine's Day in 1957 in Junction City, KS. They remained sweethearts for 65 years. To this union were born Susan, Linda, and Michael. The center of his life was the love of his wife, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

With his 33 years of law enforcement experience, he enjoyed spending time with fellow officers and colleagues. His other hobbies included, cruising (especially to Tahiti), visiting casinos, watching Court TV, listening to Western music, and eating a lot of Mexican food.

He is survived by his "sweetheart" Barbara; children Susan Reiff (Don) of Salina, Kansas, Michael Macey (Sue) of El Pescadero, Baja California Sur; sister Ann Douglas of Topeka, KS; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and beloved daughter Linda Kay Robison (Doyle).

Raymond wished to be cremated with no services but with a message to his friends and fellow officers to listen to Johnny Cash and have a shot of Jack Daniels in his honor.
