Salina man in work shirt allegedly swipes wallet, police nab him

A Salina man was arrested after he allegedly was seen on surveillance video taking another man's wallet from a convenience store counter.

A 41-year-old Salina man told police that on Monday he accidently left his wallet on the counter at Casey's, 725 W. Schilling Road, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The wallet contained $2,300 in cash and various identification and financial cards.

Surveillance video from Casey's showed a man in a T-Mobile work shirt take the wallet from the counter. The man in the video also had on a work nametag with the name "Antoine" on it, Forrester said.

Officers went to T-Mobile and made contact with a man identified as Antoine Blue, 34, of Salina. Blue was arrested on the requested charge of felony theft, Forrester said.

According to Forrester, Blue's wife turned in the wallet, which appeared to be intact except for $550 in cash that was missing.
