Kirkham Michael, a civil engineering company, has a great opportunity for an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill our full-time Construction Observer position. This position will be based from our Salina or Ellsworth, Kansas office. Interviews will be scheduled to take place in February.

Primary Function:

Performs routine construction inspection services, including being the liaison between supervisor and contractor. Maintains daily job logs and is familiar with plans, specifications, and special provisions. Performs several basic engineering and mathematical procedures, which require following instructions and guidelines, and providing accurate and complete records of that work. Performs routine material tests in the laboratory or field. Performs pre-construction haul route data collection on wind farm and transmission line projects.

Qualifications/Skills:

●High School Diploma or equivalent.

●Basic math skills.

●Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

●CIT certifications and/or construction inspection experience preferred but not required.

Monday to Friday overnight travel is required for this position. Lodging and per diem paid by the company.

Pay starts at $16.00/hour if no inspection experience or certifications.
