SALINE COUNTY— Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas felon for an alleged violent altercation in rural Saline County.
On August 16, a man reported he was at a residence in the 4200 block of E Crawford in rural Saline County where he was trying to have a conversation with a female acquaintance, according to a statement from the Saline County Sheriff's Office.
The conversation became heated a argument, and the female suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Ashlee Arneson of Salina allegedly picked up a shovel and tried to strike him, hitting him on his hands.
The man tried to restrain Arneson and she head-butted him, injuring his lip.
Arneson went back into the residence, grabbed a shotgun, and started chasing the man with it, according to the sherif's office. She pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger, but it didn’t go off.
On August 30, police located Arneson and booked her into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated battery, attempted voluntary manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon domestic battery and Use/poss drug paraphernalian/human body and Poss of opiate, narcotic, or certain stimulant.
She has a long history of crime with ten previous felon convictions that include theft, burglary, criminal threat, criminal damage to property and drug possession, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
