SALINE COUNTY, KAN. -
Rough harvest for an area Saline County farmer this month.

It happened in the 6200 blk East Stimmel Road, Saline County, Kansas on Friday around 12:30 in the afternoon.
The Saline County sheriff's office says the driver of that combine was cutting soybeans when the combine lost power. The driver noticed what he thought was a hydraulic hose smoking at the rear of the combine.
The driver exited the combine and attempted to put the flames out with a fire extinguisher but was not successful.
Rural Fire District 5 arrived to find the combine, a 2010 Gleaner S78, totally engulfed. Total loss will be around $152,500 per the owner.
