Kenneth E. Talbott Obituary 2022 - Stockham Funeral Home (stockhamfamily.com)

March 18, 1938 - April 15, 2022

Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Talbott, 84, passed away on Good Friday, April 15, 2022, at his home in Marquette with his family by his side. He was born to LaMonte and Emma (Grooms) Talbott on March 18, 1938. He was a lifetime resident of Marquette.

He graduated from Marquette High School and Barber Business School in Wichita. 

He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette Chamber of Commerce and part-time volunteer fireman for the Marquette Fire Department. 

He married Freda J. Malm on September 7, 1957, at Elim Lutheran Church.

He followed his grandfather Mahlon Grooms, uncle Dewey Grooms, and mother Emma Talbott, in the barbering profession.  He was proud to be a third-generation barber. Grooms Barbershop started in 1888.  Kenny started his barbering career in 1960.  He was owner/operator of the barbershop until he retired in 2013.  

Kenny enjoyed being with his family and friends, gardening, fishing, and watching sports events.

Kenny is survived by his wife Freda; daughter Darla Nochowicz (Larry) of St. Augustine, FL; son Darryl Talbott (Diane) of Marquette, KS; grandchildren Lindsay Nochowicz (Adam Dandis) of Littleton, CO, Lawren Terry (James) of Atlanta, GA, MaryAnne McDonnell (Kevin) of Littleton, CO, and Evan Talbott (Andrea) of Washington, DC; and great-grandchild, Sawyer May McDonnell of Littleton, CO.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Orton Talbott, and grandson Kenneth Darryl Talbott.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Elim Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.  Private inurnment will be in the Marquette Lutheran Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Elim Lutheran Church or Riverview Estates in care of Stockham Family Funeral home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
