⚾️ Coyotes push past York 7-4

YORK, Neb. - Kansas Wesleyan Baseball scored three runs in the fifth and four more in the seventh to get by the York University Panthers in KWU's final midweek game of the regular season.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the second when York scored a run on a sacrifice fly.

The score stayed the same until the fifth when KWU got on the board. Tyler Nordyke reached on a hit to start the inning, followed by a hit by Niko Olson. Carter Allen brought in the first run with a double, and two batters later Chris Finocchario hit a 2-run single to push KWU into the lead.

York scored three runs in the sixth to take the lead back at 4-3 before the Coyotes erupted for four runs in the seventh.

Allen walked and Fernando Ruvalcaba reached on a single before Finocchario homered to right center to put the Coyotes up 6-4. Chase Aurand knocked in the fourth run of the inning when Blake Dale scored before York could complete an inning-ending double play.

Four different players had two hits each for the Coyotes, including Finocchario who drove in five runs.

Riley Gwin got the win after coming in during the sixth inning, pitching three and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six. Isaac Hawthrone got the start, going two innings before Connor Rhorer came in and threw three and two-thirds of work.
