Wind Surge loses third straight to Naturals

Posted Aug 01, 2021 2:29 PM

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – The Wind Surge dropped their third straight game to the Naturals by a final score of 8-4.

For the sixth time this season, the Wind Surge started out a game with a leadoff home run. This time, BJ Boyd led off the game with his seventh bomb of the season on a deep shot to center field.

After the Naturals tied it in the bottom of the third off a Dairon Blanco RBI triple, Jermaine Palacios put the Surge back on top with a two-run home run in the top of the fourth for a 3-1 lead. Palacios’ 13th homer of the season has him sitting in first for most home runs on the team. Once again, Wichita could not hold on to the lead for long as Northwest Arkansas tied it in the bottom half of the inning off an RBI single from Freddy Fermin and an RBI groundout from Dennicher Carasco.

After Wichita seemingly went ahead off a Jermaine Palacios sac fly in the sixth, but the Naturals took the lead in the bottom half of the inning and added on to it in the seventh and eighth to take game five, 8-4.

Adam Lau pitched 2.2 innings in his second start of the year. Lau allowed just one run on one hit and struck out four batters.
