Law enforcement pursuit ensues and ends in a crash.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on May 23 at 9:16 pm, a deputy was in the area of S. Phillips and noticed a pickup truck had a defective tag light.
The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and came in contact with Larry Moreno (48) of Assaria.
When the deputy received Moreno's driver information and went back to the patrol vehicle, he drove off and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit reached up to top speeds of 68 mph, and Moreno eventually lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a utility box in the 1200 block of West Walnut.
After the crash, Moreno fled on foot and was arrested after a short time.
Moreno is facing requested charges of DUI, Flee and Elude and Possession of Marijuana.
