
George Edward Stroup, age 94 of Beloit, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2020 at the Mitchell County Hospital.
George was born on October 7, 1926 in Kensington, Kansas to George A. and Faye (Gaines) Stroup, one of 12 children.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife Judith (Swain) Stroup of the home; children, Steve of Griffin, GA, Deb Underwood of Burr Oak, KS, Bonnie (Lee) Axtell of Salina, KS, and Pam (Ralph) Lee of Junction City, KS; step-children, Pam (Mitch) Rushton of Fernando Beach, FL, Thomas Crisp of Bryson, NC, and Jenny (Brian) Abels of Bryson, NC; 15 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Karen Evans, Melford (Frieda) Stroup; and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Betty, 6 sisters, 3 brothers, and Ken Schwenn.
George served in the US Army. He was in World War II, Korean War, and was a Vietnam Era Veteran. George also served 20 years with the Kansas National Guard.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, October 31 at the Beloit First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM with family present from 5-7 PM Friday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Church.
