With midseason tournament week already in full swing, the Salina Central, Salina South, and Abilene boys' and girls' basketball teams will all open this year's Salina Invitational Tournament with a Thursday matchup.
Both brackets will also feature Liberal, Buhler, and Andover while the girl's bracket is filled out by Junction City and Highland Park, and the boy's bracket is completed by Wichita South and Blue Valley Southwest.
Opening round matchups will divide each field of eight into the winners and consolation brackets, with the semifinals taking place on Friday, and the Championship games being held on Saturday.
Below are all six matchups for our area schools in order of start time on Thursday
3:00- (4) Salina Central girls vs. (5) Buhler (at Salina Central HS)
3:00- (7) Abilene girls vs. (2) Andover (at Salina South HS)
4:30- (3) Abilene boys vs. (6) Liberal (at Salina South HS)
6:00- (6) Salina South girls vs. (3) Highland Park (at Salina South HS)
7:30- (4) Salina Central boys vs. (5) Buhler (at Salina Central HS)
7:30- (7) Salina South boys vs. (2) Blue Valley SW (at Salina South HS)
After the first round winner's bracket games will all be held at Kansas Wesleyan while consolation bracket games will be held at Salina Central High School.
