ST. CHARLES COUNTY —A man from Abilene avoided injury in an accident just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Charles County, Mo.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Daniel P. Cook, 60, Abilene, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Bryan Road.
The semi and an eastbound 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Tyrone K. Smith, 59, Florissant, Mo., merged. The right front of the semi struck the left rear of the Altima.
St. Charles County Ambulance transported Smith to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital. Cook was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
