Fiber optic line work is expected to continue this week in south Salina.
According to information from the City of Salina, Eli Drilling will be working in the area of Enterprise Road and Schilling Road just east of S. Ninth Street, placing Bluebird underground fiber optic lines.
Contractors will continue working toward S. Ninth Street, progressing north on S. Ninth to Otto Avenue. Work will be in grass areas with minimum sidewalk closures. No road closures are expected at this time.
The fiber optic cabling and related facilities will connect existing cell towers and future 5G cell towers providing exceptional cell service and high speed networks.
Work is expected to continue through Friday.
