The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories and high wind warnings for counties in our area.
Clay County
Clay County has been moved to a high wind warning in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.
South winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are forecast.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Cloud County
Cloud County has been moved to a high wind warning in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.
South winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are forecast.

Dickinson County
Dickinson County has been moved to a high wind warning in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.
South winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are forecast.

Jewell County
A high wind warning is in effect until 5 a.m. Saturday. South winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are expected.
Some of the strongest winds Friday will not develop until after dark, just ahead of an approaching cold front. While winds will be strong in the afternoon, a surge in winds just ahead of the cold front is expected during the evening through overnight hours.
Damaging winds may damage trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The strong winds are also likely to kick up areas of blowing dust, causing varying degrees of reduced visibility.

Lincoln County has been moved to a high wind warning in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday.
South winds at 35 to 45 mph with gusts 55 to 60 mph are forecast.

South winds around 30 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph are expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
McPherson County
McPherson County has been moved to a high wind warning until 7 a.m. Saturday. South winds at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 to 60 mph are forecast.
From 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, McPherson County will be in a wind advisory. South winds at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph are expected.
