ABILENE - Roxie Yonkey, a best-selling author from Goodland, will discuss her newest book "Historic Kansas Roadsides," at the Abilene Public Library (209 NW 4th St.) at 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 21.
"Historic Kansas Roadsides" outlines a dozen Kansas road trips. Yonkey will have all her Kansas books available for purchase.
Usually, Yonkey begins presentations by leading "Home on the Range," the Kansas state song. She will then highlight several topics from Historic Kansas Roadsides relating to Abilene, Dickinson County and surrounding counties.
Historic Kansas Roadsides is Yonkey's fifth published book. She wrote the bestseller "100 Things to Do in Kansas Before You Die," "Secret Kansas: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure" and the Kansas sections of Midwest Road Trip Adventures and Midwest State Park Adventures.
Yonkey has written about Kansas for more than 35 years and has amassed numerous awards.
