Sheriff's investigating hit-and-run suspect, sending victim to hospital

SALINE COUNTY - Deputies of Saline County are investigating a hit-and-run incident, sending the victim to the hospital.

According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on Saturday at around 2:00 am deputies were dispatched to I-70 near mile marker 265 (Crystal Springs Road), for the report of a vehicle-injury accident.

When deputies arrived to the scene, they discovered a 2006 Mazda6 with extensive rear-end damage. The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year old man from Garden City, KS reported he was headed eastbound when another vehicle rear-ended him.

After the crash, both vehicles entered into the median and came back on the interstate. 

The suspect vehicle drove away from the scene and failed to report the accident.

The suspect vehicle was identified as a Dark Gray 2020 GMC 2500 pickup truck, bearing KS tag: 3453ABW

The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
