2026-2027 ANNUAL CLASSIFICATION CHANGES
The Kansas State High School Activities Association has compiled enrollment figures for 349 member schools for the 2026-2027 school year. This year, 14 schools fall into a different classification from the previous school year.
Last year's (2025-2026) classification is shown in parentheses. Wichita-Northeast Magnet School is not classified. Annual classification changes with enrollment ranges are as follows:
6A (36 schools, enrollment range 2,363–1,228) Harmon (5A)
5A (36 schools, enrollment range 1,227–752) Wichita-West (6A)
4A (36 schools, enrollment range 702–298) No schools changed classification.
3A (64 schools, enrollment range 298–164) Central Heights (2A) Hillsboro (2A) Syracuse (2A)
2A (64 schools, enrollment range 162–102) Clifton-Clyde (1A) Jayhawk Linn (3A) Olpe (1A) Oskaloosa (3A) Phillipsburg (3A) Wabaunsee (1A)
