Maggie was a very good girl!

The Saline County Sheriff's Office K-9 won the Patrol Dog Trophy Run from the Heart of America Police Dog Association while at recertification Sept. 26-Oct. 1 in Ankeny, Iowa, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning.

The certification categories included narcotics, patrol, tracking, and evidence collection.

Maggie, a Belgian Malinois, and her deputy, Craig Norris, competed against nine other K-9 units in the trophy run.

Now in her third year with the Saline County Sheriff's Office, Maggie has assisted with numerous cases, Soldan said.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office has used K-9s since the early 1990s, he said.
