The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for the case of Kayla Errebo (32), who is currently being charged with 2nd-degree murder.

According to Noah Morgan from the Saline County Attorney's office, the preliminary hearing that was set to occur on Friday, August 22nd has been rescheduled.

Morgan said this decision was made due to Errebo's attorney, who stated they needed "more time for evidence."

The rescheduled preliminary hearing date is set for Tuesday, October 21st at 9:00 am inside the City of Salina-Saline County building (300 W Ash St), Room 301.

Errebo was arrested back on Friday, August 8th for a head-on collision into Mark Sommerfeld (61) and Deanna Sommerfeld (55) on a rural Saline County road. Errebo was not at the scene of the crash, but deputies located her at an address in Ellsworth.

She also plead guilty back on October 2024 for fleeing and eluding law enforcement, driving under the influence (DUI) and leaving the scene of an accident.

Errebo's bond is currently set at $1 million.

The preliminary hearing for October 21 is open to the public.
