Terry Susan Mansur, 71, of Salina, died peacefully on Saturday, August 27th at Legacy at Salina.
She was born in Arlington, Virginia, November 15, 1950 to Elbert Mansur and Thelma Helen (Lyons) Enright.
Having spent her early years in Europe; she retained a fondness for the culture and always considered Frankfurt, Germany her “hometown.” Terry’s family relocated to New York and then to Greenwich, Connecticut where she graduated from Greenwich High School in 1969.
She attended several colleges such as Simpson College and Drake University briefly, focusing on social work. A firm believer in the principles of the peace movement that embodied her generation, Terry joined the Catholic Worker Community of Des Moines, Iowa for several years to work with the homeless and hungry. She also advocated for battered women and sexual assault survivors.
Terry moved to Salina in 1987 to be close to family and worked as a phlebotomist, personal assistant, and homecare provider. Her family was always her first priority.
Survivors include her four children, Erin Mansur, EJ Smith (Tammy), Emery Diercks (Doug), and Elice Smith. She also has four grandchildren, Erika Fain (Nicholas), Alex-Mary Cosco, Nathaniel Cosco and Gabriel Smith; two sisters, Thea Todd (Greg) and Jane Tryvanian and dear friend of the family and caretaker, Claudia Marshall.
She is preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Joseph Smith.
Cremation has been chosen.
