Jerome "Jerry" Paul Schiess, Sr. 73, died June 27, 2020 in Clay Center, KS. He was born on May 19, 1947 in Chadwick, IL, the son of Emil and Edith (Hess) Schiess. Jerry served in the US Army during the Vietnam War sand was discharged in 1970. He married Della Jenkins on June 12, 1965. Jerry returned to duty in 1980 serving until 1992, with 23 years total service. Jerry and Della made their home in Missouri where he was the owner and operator of a trucking business. In 2006, they made their home in Kansas. He was a lifetime member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and the D.A.V. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Robert and Christopher Schiess; sister, Beverly Ebner; brothers, Virgil and Richard Schiess
