Salina Commissioners have approved a project total of $548,718.35 for the reconstruction of medians along Broadway Blvd.
According to the city, the reconstruction of medians along Broadway will include:
- Republic to Dover.
- Dover to Comfort Heating & Air.
- Comfort Heating & Air to Army Reserve.
- Army Reserve to Cloud
- North and South of State St.
Bids for these modifications were received on Thursday, October 9 and Prairie Landworks Inc. submitted the lowest bid of $50,000.
According to the city, the 2025 Streets Sub-CIP approved by the City Commission on December 9, 2024, includes $515,000 of Gas Tax funds for Broadway Medians – phase 4 of 4 (GT6).
The city recommended using $33,718.35 in available Gas Tax funds (GT1) to cover the remaining project cost, equaling to a total of $548,718.35.
Prairie Landworks, Inc. of McPherson, is a reputable contractor who has successfully performed work for the city in the past, according to the pack from October 27th's city commission packet meeting.
This project is the fourth and final Broadway median project. The first three projects made improvements along Broadway from Marietta Avenue to Republic Avenue.
Start and completion date is unknown.
