Study session

Commissioners are scheduled to begin with a 2:30 p.m. study session. The topic of the study session is Update of Housing Plan.

Regular meeting

The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Monday.

Commissioners are being asked to consider awarding a bid for 2021 street micro surfacing. The following bids for the project were received on Feb. 18.

City staff is recommending the project be awarded to Vance Brothers, Inc., noting that "Vance Brothers is a reputable contractor who successfully performed this work for the City of Salina from 2014 through 2019," according to information in the meeting packet.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a request from the Salina Fire Department to authorize the submission of a grant application to the Department of Homeland Security for a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant for four firefighter positions. If accepted, the grant would provide funding for salaries and associated benefits for four firefighter positions for three years. The fire department would be responsible for all Personal Protective Equipment for the four firefighters at a cost of approximately $9,200.

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to hear a report concerning bids received for vehicle and equipment purchases for 2021.
