
Judith (Judy) Marcene Baker, age 85, passed away at Sunset Home in Concordia, Kansas, on March 29, 2025. She was born May 23, 1939, in her maternal grandparents’ home in rural Wakefield, Kansas. She was the oldest of 6 children born to Harvey and Louise Davidson.
She attended Mt. Olive grade school and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1957. Her activities included music and cheerleading. She graduated from Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, and married Rolf Standage. Later they moved to Concordia where Brett and Jeff were born. She married Les Baker on October 5, 1968, at the First Methodist Church in Concordia. He later adopted both boys. She worked for Fidelity State Bank/Central Nation Bank for 42 years.
In addition to her great love of family, Judy enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, gardening and endured many car shows with Les.
Judy is survived by her sons, Brett Baker, Jeff Baker and daughter-in-law Jodi (Trost) Baker, stepdaughter Rebecca Zeiher, brother Larry Davidson, sisters Deanna Hammond, Ila Bertrand and Brenda Heeren, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Les Baker, and her brother Bryce Davidson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 1-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. that evening all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Brett Denham.
The burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. The family has invited family and friends to the American Legion in Concordia where a luncheon will be served following the graveside.
