Local candidates announced for City Commission and USD 305 Board of Education

Monday noon was the deadline for residents to file to run for the Salina City Commission and the USD 305 Board of Education.

For the November 4th General Election, there were 9 candidates for the City Commission including three incumbents. 

In addition to incumbents Dr. Trent Davis, Bill Longbine, and Mayor Greg Lenkiewicz the following residents have filed for the three seats up for election: 

Johnnie A (JAK) Keller, Keith Cooper, John C. Price, Dean Klenda, Former City Commissioner Randall Hardy and Doug Remp. 

The top two vote getters in November will receive 4-year terms, with the third-place finisher receiving a 2-year term. 

For the Salina USD 305 School Board two of three incumbents have filed for re-election. Gabe Grant and Bonnie Schamberger are seeking another 4-year term on the Board. Current board member Jim Fletcher is not running for another term. Three other Salina residents are running are: 

Rebecca (Becky) Lynn Norlin, Amy Freelove and Dana Johnson
