Kansas Wesleyan women's soccer picked up its first win of the spring season on Wednesday in a 3-2 victory over MidAmerica Nazarene on Wednesday at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

It was late match heroics for the Coyotes for the win, and it came on one of Wesleyan's favorite opportunities, the set piece.

Ashley Quintanilla (JR/Bakersfield, Calif.) set a corner kick ball into the penalty area. The ball found its way to the waiting head of Paige Robinson (SO/Orange, Calif.), who directed it into the back of the net in the 84th minute, putting the Coyotes up 3-2.

KWU scored the first two goals of the match, both in the first half.

Kayla Deaver (JR/Lee's Summit, Mo.) lit the lamp for the first goal, taking a ball from deep on the left flank and out-maneuvering several MNU defenders across the face of the goal before firing from basically point-blank range.

Marissa Morales (SR/La Puente, Calif.) scored the second goal in the 40th minute for the Coyotes. Morales took control of a loose ball on the right side, and controlled it and set an arcing shot just inside the far post for the goal.

MNU got two goals by Alyssa Ward, one in the 52nd and another in the 62nd to tie the match at 2-2.

Wesleyan made the most of its few chances on offense with only four shots, but three of them found the goal. MNU had 15 shots in the match.

KWU returns to action on Saturday, heading to Papillion, Neb., to take on Bellevue.
