UPDATE Monday: The Lockard Road drainage work has been postponed for several weeks at the request of the contractor, according to information today from the Saline County Road and Bridge Department. More information will be provided once it is available.
The Saline County Road and Bridge Department has announced that part of Lockard Road will be closed Friday for drainage work.
Lockard Road between N. Muir Road and N. Lightville Road will be closed to traffic beginning Friday for the replacement of a drainage structure. Weather permitting, the roadway should be opened by Dec. 1, the department noted in a news release.
Drivers are asked to find alternate routes around the project area. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times but only from the side upon which the property lies.
