Salina police are investigating the theft of a student's pickup from a Salina South High School parking lot.
A 16-year-old boy told police that he had parked his red and white 1995 Ford F150 pickup in the south parking lot near the baseball field at Salina South High School, 730 E. Magnolia Road, at approximately 7:25 a.m. Monday, but when he returned after school, the pick and its contents were gone, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.
The pickup had a Kansas license plate of 321NEL. The pickup also had a South High sticker and a Back the Blue sticker in the back window.
The boy told police that he thought he had the keys in his pocket, but after school, they were not in his pocket, Forrester said.
Also missing were a silver tool box and the boy's wallet, both of which were in the pickup.
Total loss was estimated at $1,300, Forrester said.
