Agenda items

Commissioners are scheduled to discuss with Jason Tiller, county health officer, both the county's mask mandate and Tiller's public health order.

The current mask mandate has been reviewed by the commissioners every two weeks to determine whether it needed to remain in place, be adjusted, or be rescinded. It became effective on Nov. 28, 2020.

Additionally, the public health order became effective Feb. 22 and is set to expire at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday unless it is extended, rescinded or modified prior to that time.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a request for a redeclaration of a state of local public health emergency connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioners last considered such a request from Michelle Barkley, emergency management director, on Jan. 11. That declaration was approved for 60 days.

These emergency declarations allow Saline County to submit resource requests to the State of Kansas, continue emergency sheltering, and track expenditures for reimbursement, according to information from the county.

Other items on the county agenda for Tuesday include the following.

●Commission direction for 2022 budget preparation -- County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes

●Consideration of changes to employee policies -- Marilyn Leamer, human resources director

●Hear a human resources update -- Leamer

●Hear the county administrator's weekly update --Smith-Hanes
