UPDATE: More area counties under winter weather advisories

UPDATE 7:30 p.m. Sunday: The National Weather Service has added a winter weather advisory for additional counties in our area. The advisory is as follows.

The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 12 a.m. Monday, for the following counties in our area.

Jewell County

Mitchell County

Mixed precipitation of rain, snow, and freezing rain is forecast. Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected.

Very slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges are possible. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 12 a.m. Monday for the following counties in our area.

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

Mixed precipitation is expected with freezing rain and snow. A light glaze of ice accumulation is anticipated.

Slippery road conditions could develop especially on any untreated roads and elevated surfaces.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

Freezing rain is forecast, with total ice accumulations of a light glaze.

Slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges are possible, especially where they haven`t been treated. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
