ARKANSAS CITY -- A battle of top-15 teams in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference action would see the number-13 ranked Cloud County Community College wrestling team fall by a score of 43-2 to number 10-ranked Cowley inside of W.S. Scott Auditorium in Arkansas City on Tuesday.

The loss is the first for Cloud County in three duals as the T-Birds drop their only match of the week while the Tigers pick up their second win of the year over CCCC to sweep the season series.

Cloud County would give up an open weight class at 125 pounds before seeing number six-ranked Ryan Smith of Cowley hand Aiden Connors a loss by fall at the 3:44 mark of their match at 133 pounds. The Tigers would then go on to take the 141-pound match by a score of 7-5 as Michael Barfuss would be unable to overcome a deficit in his match before seeing Jonny Crome get dealt an 18-1 technical fall loss by Malik Johnson.

In the 157 pound match, Hector Flores would see just his third match of the year while falling to number-eight ranked Jake Patterson by fall in the second period while number seven ranked Cooper Mosier would be taken to the third overtime period in his match with Montez Robinson before falling by a score of 2-1.

After Cloud County would be issued an unsportsmanlike conduct team point deduction following the 165-pound match, Cowley would then go on to get a 17-0 technical fall over Dante Harper at 174 pounds and a 13-7 win over Thomas Orr at 184 pounds. CCCC's lone win of the evening would come at 197 pounds as number-two ranked Zach Ferris would grind out a 4-1 win over Darius Hamilton before seeing the Tigers close out the dual with a pin at 285 pounds with Micah Sterling falling in 1:47.

What's next?
Cloud County's regular-season finale will see the T-Birds be back on the road again next Tuesday with a road trip to Goodland, Kansas to take on Northwest Kansas Tech and Barton in a double-dual hosted by NW Tech. Dual times have yet to be announced for the dual, and will be announced at a later date.
