The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) released information about a conducted impaired driving check lane in Salina.
According to KHP, on July 25 from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, law enforcement contacted 125 drivers and 2 were investigated for possible impairment.
Both were found not to be impaired.
The impaired driving check lane occurred along North 9th Street.
The KHP stated the response they received from motorists traveling through the check lane was "overly positive."
They have not conducted a check lane in Salina for many years, but intend to continue these efforts in the future, the agency said.
KHP has emphasized conducting impaired driving check lanes not only to detect impaired motorists, but hopefully to deter motorists from driving impaired altogether.
