Workers have begin placing the cells for the new Saline County Jail.
In an update Wednesday about the jail project, County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes noted that the cells have begun arriving and will be set into place over the next few weeks.
"Once all the precast cells are set, concrete crews will return to pour slabs in the dayroom areas between cells," Smith-Hanes wrote in an email update about the project.
Additionally, crews will begin erecting load-bearing walls and placing steel beams.
