E-ticketing, budget requests, jail project update on Saline County agenda

An e-ticketing application, budget requests, and a jail project update are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

About the meeting

Saline County Commission is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. The meetings also can be viewed on Saline County’s YouTube channel:

Agenda items

Commissioners are scheduled to consider a request to purchase the Brazos E-Ticketing application from Tyler Technologies. The application would replace Digiticket, which deputies currently use when they issue traffic citations.

The total cost of the application is $54,975. The sheriff's office would split the cost with the Salina Police Department, with the sheriff's office responsible for $24,537.50 and the police department responsible for $30,437.50. Following is the line item split for each agency.

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to hear budget allocation requests from the following agencies.

●Kansas Horse Council Budget Allocation Request

●Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and Military Affairs Council, Budget Allocation Requests

●Salina Community Economic Development Organization, Budget Allocation Request

●North Central Flint Hills Area on Aging, Budget Allocation Request

Commissioners also are scheduled to hear an update on the new jail project. To see the information packet - with photos - for that update, click here.

Other items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday include the following.

●Consider a request to proclaim May 2023 as Mental Health Month

●Hear about progress on the Commission Vision

●Consider a request from Saline County District Court to purchase and install audio/visual equipment in the two new courtrooms, and retrofit one of the existing courtrooms.

●Hear the Road and Bridge Department's bi-monthly update.

●Hear the North Central Regional Planning Commission Update 41 - 41

●Hear County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes' update.

Commissioners also are scheduled to meet in executive session concerning non-elected personnel.
