Police are investigating the theft of a winch from a trailer in southwest Salina.
A 53-year-old Salina woman reported that a $1,500 winch was stolen from her Road Clipper flatbed utility trailer while it was parked at an acquaintance's shop in the 300 block of Otto Avenue, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The theft occurred sometime between Nov. 24 and Monday.
Forrester said it appeared that someone was attempting to steal the whole trailer as the hitch lock ($50) was damaged.
