A local man is out approximately $8,000 after his pickup pulling a trailer loaded with hay bales was stolen in far north Salina over the weekend.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday someone stole a gray 1999 Dodge flatbed pickup and a RediHaul dump trailer with hay bales on it that was attached to the pickup. The pickup and trailer were parked in the 200 block of E. Gold Street.
The pickup and trailer belonged to Houston Ross, 34, of Salina, who told police that the pickup can be started without a key, Forrester said.
The pickup, valued at $2,000, had a Kansas license plate of 536 FPG and the trailer with bales, valued at $6,000, had a Kansas license plate of 836 NRN, Forrester said.
