Just in time for the holidays, The Ark Church in Salina is back with its 6th Annual Grocery Giveaway.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at Dean Evans Stadium, 851 Markley Road in Salina. Event volunteer Paisley Millspaugh said last year vehicles began lining up as early as 5 a.m.
"Last year we had 600 cars line up to receive two weeks of free groceries," Millspaugh said. "We will be giving out a similar amount of groceries this year. There is no I.D. needed or proof of residence. We only ask that you arrive in a vehicle."
Millspaugh said each vehicle will receive one set of groceries.
"If you plan to carpool with someone please know that we will only be giving one set of groceries per car," Millspaugh said.
More than 400 volunteers will assist The Ark Church, 2020 S. Ohio Street, with placing the groceries in vehicles.

Food items that will be given out include but are not limited to, frozen chicken nuggets, bread, a bag of Idaho potatoes, frozen hamburger, peanut butter and jelly, corn, cereal, frozen pizzas, and more.
