A Salina man was arrested on multiple requested charges, including aggravated assault, after an incident Saturday evening.
Officers were sent to the 700 block of E. Elm Street for the report of a domestic dispute, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing Walter Shields, 49, of Salina, get into an argument with a 30-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man who was his partner, Forrester said.
Shields then got into a 2005 Pontiac Vibe and allegedly attempted to strike the man twice, and in the process allegedly caused $200 worth of damage to a nearby fence. After the second attempt failed, Shields allegedly got out of the car, picked up a metal fence post, and threw it at a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, smashing the back window.
Shields was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
●Two counts of aggravated assault
●Two counts of damage to property
●Driving while suspended
●No proof of insurance
●Improper tag
●Failure to register vehicle
