The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans got back to their winning ways tonight with a dominant 67-36 win over the Ellinwood Lady Eagles.
With this win SES will head into the final game of their season at 13-6 while Ellinwood falls to 11-7.
The Lady Trojans were led by a 22 point effort by Karsyn Schlesener, who was assisted by 13 from Maddie Harris.
SES led from the very beginning and took a commanding 43-20 lead into the half, but Ellinwood fought to the very end.
“It felt like they never went away,” SES head coach Shauna Smith said. “We were up by 23 at halftime but even that lead never felt safe, they were very capable of hitting some big back to back threes to keep them in this game.”
Ellinwood got 11 points from Daphne Doll in the losing effort but failed to find anyone else in double digits.
Once again, the depth of Southeast was on display as the team got meaningful contributions from seven players on both sides of the floor.
“We have 15 kids right now and every single one that gets on the floor is ready to get after it,” Smith said.
The Lady Trojans will be back in action tomorrow night when they host Republic County in their regular season finale at 6pm.
