On Saturday, another Salina Invitational Tournament concluded, with all six of our area teams competing in one final game before the end of the action.

Here are the results for all six teams in their four matchups on Saturday.

Girls 3rd-place game
Salina Central 49, Salina South 45 (OT)

Boys 3rd-place game
Abilene 52, Salina Central 51

Girls 5th-place game
Abilene 43, Junction City 54

Boys 5th-place game
Salina South 30, Wichita South 66

Andover would go on to win both title games, defeating Liberal 47-46 on the girl's side, and Blue Valley SW 58-45 on the boy's side.

Seven of our area athletes were also named to the all-tournament teams including Claira Dannafer (Abilene), Elle Denning (Central), Paityn Fritz (South), and Tyler Vidricksen (Central) on the girl's side, and Triston Cottone (Abilene), Jace Humphrey (South), and Ethan Waters (Central) on the boy's side.

Area athletes also swept another award category as Stocton Timbrook (Abilene) and Callan Hall (Central) were named Most Inspirational Player at this year's SIT.
