KDOT work in Cloud, Dickinson, Ellsworth, Saline counties

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a mobile milling operation tomorrow to gather asphalt samples  in multiple counties in the area.

The sample collection is scheduled  for U.S. Highway 81 in Cloud County, U.S. Highway 77 in Dickinson County, Kansas Highway 218 in Dickinson County, Kansas Highway 14 in Ellsworth County, and Kansas Highway 4 in Saline County.

On Thursday, work is scheduled to begin on northbound U.S. 81 in Cloud County, just north of U.S. Highway 24 at mile marker 193, thence to U.S. 77 in Dickinson County, north of K-4 at mile marker 129, and finish the day’s work on K-218 in Dickinson County, south of K-4 at mile marker 1. On Friday, work will begin on K-14 in Ellsworth County at mile marker 151 then move to the final location on K-4 in Saline County, south of K-104 at mile marker 197.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane at a reduced speed where the contractor is actively working. Drivers should expect minimal delays, not exceeding five minutes.

Dustrol Inc. of Towanda is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $15,164 project to be completed by September, weather permitting.
