Posted Sep 17, 2026 6:18 PM

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Big 12 Conference unveiled Thursday the 2026-27 Monster Energy Big 12 Women’s Basketball league schedule, which begins on Saturday, Dec. 19 and continues through the end of the regular season on Sunday, Feb. 28.

Each of the 16 member institutions will play a home-and-home series against three other conference opponents, while facing the remaining 12 opponents once, with six games at home and six on the road for an 18-game Big 12 schedule.

Game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.

Kansas opens Big 12 play at home on Sunday, Dec. 20, hosting Oklahoma State in the first of nine conference home games at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks hit the road for the next two, playing at West Virginia (Dec. 30) and at Cincinnati (Jan. 2) before returning home to face Arizona (Jan. 6) and Baylor (Jan. 9). The following week features road matchups at Oklahoma State (Jan. 13) and Utah (Jan. 16) prior to Iowa State visiting Lawrence on Jan. 20. KU then goes to Colorado (Jan. 24) before hosting Arizona State (Jan. 27) and Kansas State (Jan. 31) to close out the opening month of 2027.

Conference play features four road games in February, beginning at BYU (Feb. 6) and Houston (Feb. 13) before return trips to Kansas State (Feb. 20) and Iowa State (Feb. 24). The Jayhawks also play three home games during the month, facing TCU (Feb. 10) and UCF (Feb. 16) before welcoming Texas Tech to Allen Fieldhouse for Senior Day on Feb. 28.

At the conclusion of the league schedule, all 16 teams will head to the T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri for the 2027 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament on March 3-7/8.

The Big 12 had eight teams selected to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, matching the league record set in 2008. It marked the third consecutive season the league has sent at least seven teams to March Madness. The conference finished the regular season as one of two leagues nationally to have 75% of its teams ranked within the top 60 of the NET and had the second-best regular season record among Power Four leagues in games against other P4 teams.

The Jayhawks are set to play a total of 19 games at Allen Fieldhouse this season, beginning with exhibitions against Northeastern State Oct. 22 and Late Night in the Phog against Washburn on Oct. 29. The season opens on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with Kansas hosting Omaha in the first of eight non-conference home games prior to the start of league play.

Season tickets for the 2026-27 Kansas women's basketball campaign are on sale now, with fans able to secure seats at Allen Fieldhouse for as low as $125.
