The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans will travel to Minneapolis today for a 6pm tip with the Lady Lions.

SES, enters this game at 11-5 having won their last six straight and eight of their last nine.

Minneapolis has also been playing their best basketball as of late, winning six of their last eight.

The first meeting between these two ended with a 55-30 Trojan victory with Karsyn Schlesener’s 24 points leading the way for Southeast.

We did a good job with our press the first time and kept them off the offensive boards,” SES head coach Shauna Smith said. I think we need to get out and run with the ball to get some easy buckets and to keep them off the boards again.”

Minneapolis will once again be led by Alayna Cossaart, Cameron Cleveland and Courtney Forte, the trio who scored 100% of the Lions points in the first meeting between the two.

Forte is a very good explosive post for them,” Smith said. “Last time we kept her in check but we need to keep her off the boards and not give her easy looks. They have some guards that like to shoot the three too, they’re a good well rounded team.”

Scoring will once again be a big point of emphasis for the Lady Trojans, who put up their second highest scoring performance of the season earlier this week against Beloit.

“We need to get out and score like we did against Beloit to get some more confidence,” she said. “Our three point shooting needs to come around more from some players so our main goal is to score in the upper 50's 60's.”

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm from Minneapolis high school and as always games can be heard on KINA (910 AM or 107.5 FM).
