August 26. 1932 - April 12, 2022

Galland E. Ellwood, 89, of Windom, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River.  He was a devoted Christian, farmer, rancher, and family man.

Galland was born on August 26, 1932, in McPherson, KS, the son of Glenford LeRoy and Acelee (Neel) Ellwood.  He graduated from Windom High School in 1951.  On September 1, 1953, Galland was united in marriage to Della Mae Meek in Windom.  This union was blessed with four children, Michael, Randall, Rhonda, and Krystal.

He was a longtime member of the Windom community and the Windom Church of Christ.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Della of the home; three children, Randall “Randy” (Nancy) Ellwood, Rhonda Fortenberry, and Krystal “Krysti” (Jason) Bergkamp, all of Windom, KS; two sisters, Jeanine (Stanley) McNally of Salina, KS and Linda (Bill) Teeter of Little River, KS; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Ellwood, two sons-in-law, Nick Prindle and David Fortenberry; and a great-grandson, Calum Block.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.  A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 16, at the Windom Cemetery.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the McPherson Church of Christ with Minister Kenny Graham officiating.
