Public hearing date set for Salina's 2026 budget

The public hearing date for Salina's 2026 budget has been set for August.

According to the City of Salina, the date set for the public hearing on the 2026 budget will be on Monday, August 11th. 

Accordingly, the 2026 proposed budget establishes the maximum mill levy at 28.568 mills, which is .849 mills lower than last year. This mill levy will allocate the following amounts:

General Fund: $12,306,400

Bond & Interest Fund: $3,340,35  

Total: $15,646,750

The total amount establishes the maximum property tax revenue and estimated mill levy rate (28.568) with the final mill levy rate being determined by the County Clerk upon final certification.
