City of Salina
Beginning Wednesday, July 24 through Friday, July 26, Donelson Construction of Clever, Missouri begins work on the City of Salina’s annual asphalt overlay project. The schedule is as follows, weather permitting:
The prep work consists of milling off the existing asphalt striping. Then in a one-pass process applying both a pressurized sealant across the entire roadway and a flexible modified aggregate quick-set surface to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after the resurfacing.
The work will be completed with lane closures. Motorists should expect modest delays and are encouraged to avoid the work zones altogether if possible.
This work is part of the $607,700 project that is a major component of the City of Salina's $5.9 million 2024 maintenance capital improvement program.
