UPDATE: Flood warning for Ellsworth, Lincoln counties has expired

Posted Aug 15, 2021 9:37 PM

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a flood warning in effect until 11:30 p.m. Sunday for northeastern Ellsworth County and and eastern Lincoln County.

At 4:29 p.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow moving thunderstorms. Flooding is expected to begin shortly in the warned area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Lincoln, Beverly, Barnard, and Westfall, the weather service noted.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t drown.
