A Salina nonprofit organization that provides services empowering individuals and families to achieve stability and confidence for long-term success has announced its annual fundraising event to occur.
Ashby House is seeking community partners and sponsors for its Annual "Dueling Pianos" fundraising event, one of the organization's most important fundraising efforts of the year.
The organization's sponsorship goal for this year's event is $50,000 and is inviting businesses and community leaders to join in helping make a lasting difference in the lives of women and children experiencing homelessness.
By sponsoring, Ashby House can continue offering:
- Affordable housing.
- Case management services.
- Life skills education.
- Financial literacy classes.
- Employment and self-sufficiency support.
- Assistance in addressing barriers and deficiencies that contribute to housing instability.
"At Ashby House, every program we provide is focused on one ultimate goal: helping women, and women with children, achieve permanent housing and long-term stability," said Executive Director Patrick Parker. "We understand that homelessness is a complex issue, and we work every day to ensure our residents have the resources, support and opportunities needed to create a better future for themselves and their families."
According to Parker, Ashby House incorporated two new supportive housing programs to better assist women and children. As a result, they were able to support 17 households with safe, supportive housing and help others transition into permanent housing.
"We truly strive to fight the fight against homelessness in the Salina community, and we cannot do it alone," Parker said. "Your sponsorship will directly impact the lives of those we serve while demonstrating your organization's commitment to strengthening our community."
Dueling Pianos will take place on Friday, October 16 at the Salina Country Club (2101 E. Country Club Road) at 6:00 pm, with doors opening at 5:30 pm.
You can also donate items or services for the organization's raffle baskets.
Ashby House is the only full-time homeless shelter serving women and children in Salina and the immediate surrounding area.
