After a disappointing 2-18 finish last season, the Abilene girls basketball team will be eager to turn things around ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Shawn Herrman returns as head coach of the Cowgirls for his second season at the helm.
Abilene returns most of its rotation from a season ago with a familiar starting lineup that should look like this come tip-off.
PG- Sammy Stout (Sr)
G- Renatta Heintz (Jr)
G- Hannah Walter (Sr)
F- Claira Dannefer (Sr)
F- Callie Powell (Sr)
Abilene will also look to the bench for key minutes out of a trio of seniors in Zoey Debenham, Adin Bruna, and Blair Adams, as well as sophomore newcomer Makenna Stover.
The Cowgirls open their season in Abilene with a home game against Smoky Valley this Friday.
